fifth to sixth grade transition 2020

The following message was sent to all fifth grade families in April. Keep checking here for updated information.

Dear fifth grade families,

We hope this email finds you in good health and that you are all adjusting, just as we are, to this “new normal.” Here at Oliver Middle School, we miss seeing our students and staff throughout the rooms and halls of our building.

Traditionally, this week would be our Parent Night for incoming sixth graders. We want you to know that we are working hard to prepare for September and that this important transition and milestone for your student is being taken very seriously. Our hope is that we will be able to host our families over the summer to tour the building and meet the sixth grade teams for the 2020-21 school year. If it begins to look like we will not have access in the summer, we will work to provide this information virtually to our students and families.

An exciting new experience in Middle School is that students will enroll in a World Language class. This will be a three-year commitment, and your student will have the opportunity to earn a high-school credit.  Brockport offers two choices for World Language: Spanish or French. Below is a link for you to make that selection by Friday, May 15.
